OS: BSD/OS 4.1
VNC 3.3.3r2 Source Distribution for Unix platforms

vncviewer dumps core on startup:

Connected to VNC server, using protocol version 3.3
VNC server default format:
  16 bits per pixel.
Least significant byte first in each pixel.
True colour: max red 31 green 63 blue 31, shift red 11 green 5 blue
0
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

The error occurs in colour.c, but I hesitate to change the makefile to
add -g flags.

The NT4 box I'm attempting to control works fine, and I can run
vncviewer on another Win32 box and communicate with it satisfactorily.

I imagine I must have run into a well-known problem, but I can't
locate anything in the mailing list archives. I have had an earlier
release of VNC running under an earlier version of BSD/OS, but in the
meantime I've been very ill, and have forgotten whatever I once knew
about the internals of VNC.

TIA
