Running WinVNC.exe 3.3.3r9 on Windows NT SP 6a. By default the RemoveWallpaper seems to be enabled. I have installed WinVNC as a service, when connections are made the wallpaper is removed. When the VNC client connection disconnects, WinVNC appears to use the winnt.bmp or winnt256.bmp (depending on your display settings) as the wallpaper. But if you run WinVNC as a service, and a connection is made, and then winvnc -servicehelper is run, when the client disconects, the wallpaper is reset correctly.
So I disable the RemoveWallpaper option by setting the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORL\WinVNC3\Default\RemoveWallpaper as a DWORD with value 0. WinVNC service is started, client makes the connection, the wallpaper is left. Client disconnects, wallpaper is left alone. But if during the client session, the user was not logged off the system running WinVNC as a service, when CTRL-ALT-DEL is presses to lock the system, or access the TaskManager the Wallpaper is removed/reset again.... --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the line: 'unsubscribe vnc-list' in the message BODY See also: http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/intouch.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------
