Hi, I am having problems connecting to the WinVNC server on my work desktop from my home desktop through a VPN connection.
I was using WinVNC for about 2-3 months quite successfully over the VPN channel without any problems. Then I decided to use TightVNC :( I installed TightVNC on both my work desktop(win2000) and home desktop(win2000). Since then I am unable to connect to my work desktop from my home. - When I use VNCviewer, after asking me for my password, the very first time, the VNCviewer opens up the remote desktop, but almost immediately that window is killed. - On subsequent tries, after asking me for my password, it simply responds with "Connection closed" message. - However I can connect to my linux machine at work successfully from my home machine. - When I am at work, I can connect to my windows desktop from my linux desktop as well. - So I connected to my linux box at work from my home machine (windows) and tried to connect to my windows box at work from the linux desktop. Same problem though. Connection closed error message. Could this be a problem with my home machine? Some graphics setting. In that case how did it work eariler. I removed TightVNC from both my work and home machine; got rid of all the registry entries; and then installed VNC again to see if that made a difference. Nope. I tried connecting using the Java viewer, but got the Java.io.EOFException. Can someone please help?
