I'm not 100% sure I know what you mean, but if it's what I think (that you
want to be able to tell the [Mac?] server not to allow viewers to control
the server) then I agree that such a feature would be very useful...

But if you're using a Mac as a server (and if that is what you mean),     
then there is a great solution!

The latest version of ChromiVNC Server (alpha 4) has just such a feature.
In fact, it's even better than that - you can specify a separate password
for 'allow-control' mode, and for 'view-only' mode - and these are given
at the server end, so it does not matter which client you are using.

(Note that there is a bug in the password check code which means that the
view-only password has to be as long as the 'normal' password.)
