I'm using WinVNC to connect to my home PC from work (behind a firewall). There are only a few open ports on the firewall, including port 80. Opening new ports isn't an option. :) I set up the server at home to listen on port 80, and connect using the viewer to homeip:-5820. This works fine. However, I also want to be able to connect to my machine at work from home. Of course this is a little more complicated since the work machine sits behind a firewall. I suppose the solution is to set up the server at work, viewer at home, and initiate an outgoing connection to the viewer from the server. I've modified the VNCViewer source to allow specifying the listening port on the command line, e.g. vncviewer -listen 80, using source code posted to this list by Dave Habermann (thanks Dave!). Now I need to initiate an outgoing connection to the viewer at home from the server at work. How do I specify the port there? I've tried just specifing my home IP address, it just hangs for a bit then says it couldn't connect. I've tried specifying homeip:80, homeip:-5820, and homeip:-5420, but they immediately say they can't connect. Any ideas?
