> Should I be using ChromiVNC's vncPatches
Yes - the one that you downloaded with ChromiVNC.
> ...with the Viewer
It comes with the server - the viewer is only a simple application that accepts
and displays framebuffer sent from the server.
The vncPatches are needed to 'capture' screen updates on the server Mac so that
the server knows which bits of the screen to send. It also has various hooks
into other Mac Toolbox calls so that it can still capture and send updates
when, for example, the mouse button is clicked on a menu, or while a window is
being dragged etc. (times when the Mac OS's co-operative multitasking would not
give time to 'normal' applications).
Alternatively you can also use (WARNING: shameless plug about to occur...) my
own vncPatches68k, which has a couple of extra hooks to get around a problem
which occurs with the standard ChromiVNC vncPatches when dragging an icon in
the Finder.
http://wrench.et.ic.ac.uk/adrian/software/vnc/ is where you can get it.
Note that you must still make sure there are no other vncPatches being loaded
at boot time (i.e. in Extensions, Control Panels, System Folder).
Let me know how you get on...
Adrian
