I think this FAQ entry could be described as out-of-date. Dead-keys aren't
currently something we're actively working on. The main problem with
developing for dead keys is that we (myself, at least) don't use non-English
keyboard layouts daily, so its difficult for us to see where the holes are.
Between that and time constraints, I'm afraid it's not a high priority. :(
