hi all.

i have been trying to use gimp from a vnc desktop and i get errors;
shown below is a sample.

  ** WARNING **: unable to find a suitable visual for color image display.

  ** WARNING **: file gtkpreview.c: line 906 (gtk_preview_get_cmaps):
"klass->info.visual != NULL"

  ** WARNING **: file gtkwidget.c: line 3206 (gtk_widget_push_visual): "visual != NULL"

  ** WARNING **: file gtkpreview.c: line 563 (gtk_preview_draw_row):
"preview_class->info.visual != NULL"
  gimp fatal error: sigsegv caught
  [n]othing, [e]xit, [s]tack trace, [a]ttach to process:

does this have anything to do with vnc? i am using vnc 3.3.2r2. i
tried to install the binaries for vnc-3.3.3r2 but they don't seem
to work. had to re-install the older(former) version. i'm
downloading the unix source code; i have a feeling it should
install properly on:

  Linux aardvark 2.0.34 #67 Thu Jun 18 17:04:10 MEST 1998 i686 unknown

it might be something to do with gimp itself. i am using:

  GIMP version 1.0.0

any ideas?
