I have two PC connected together: Celeron 466 and Pentium 75 both running
Windows 98 2nd edition. A TCP/IP connection is established between the two
PCs. I am able to run the server on the Celeron 466 and connect remotely to
it by running the VNCVIEWER on the Pentium 75. Everything works fine when I
do it this way.

However, when I try the reverse scenario: running the server on the Pentium 75
and trying to connect to it from the Celeron 466, I get the following error
message:

"vncDesktop: Current display is PLANAR, not CHUNKY! WinVNC cannot be used with
this graphics device driver."

The error message appears on the Pentium 75 even though I am initiate the
VNCVIEWER on the Celeron 466.

The Pentium 75 is a compaq with the graphics card on board. I believe that it
has 1 megabyte of display ram. The driver running the display is a Cirrus
Logic 5434 PCI, hardware version 252.

Can anyone make a suggestion about how I can get around this error?

Thanks

John
