Not exactly, "OptimizeDesktop" is meant to *enable* all of the
bandwidth optimizations with one single key. It is not meant to
disable them as a group. By default, they should be disabled
anyway. If you only want individual optimizations, just use the
individual keys.

I do not recall this behavior in our testing of the 1.4.0 release.
Is no one else having this problem?
I'll get this scheduled for review in an upcoming TridiaVNC release.

Have you tried completely removing the "OptimizeDesktop" key from the
registry? You may want to try removing the "DisableWallpaper" key as
well. Apparently you are interested in the default behavior, which is
to not change the wallpaper.
