This may be nothing at all, but I thought I should mention it; I couldn't
find anything in the archive...

I am using WinVNC Viewer 3.3.3R2 on a Windows 2000 SP 1 workstation to view
WinVNC Server 3.3.3R7 on a Windows NT 4/SP6a Server. An ISAKMP/IKE-encrypted
GRE tunnel (Cisco router) connects my site with the site hosting the server.
The server is connected to a managed switch (BayStack) that I'm monitoring
in a separate (not VNC) telnet window.

Whenever the server is sending back screen updates, the port statistics for
the server's connection to the switch will show an intermittently increasing
number of "Frame Errors" being received (i.e., transmitted by the server to
the switch). This is true whether I'm controlling the server with VNC or
just observing an operator at that site. I also tried switching to 8-bit;
same situation. If I just move the mouse (while controlling, without
clicking anything), no errors seem to be generated.

If I shut down the VNC viewer and access the server via other methods (e.g.,
copying files to its shares), no frame errors are generated, so I don't
think it's the fault of the tunnel/encryption/network.

The NIC in the server is an Adaptec DuraLink 4-port model, with their
current 5.0 driver. (I'm not using any of the port aggregation features.)

VNC appears to function fine; I wouldn't have noticed except for monitoring
the switch today (one of the workstations over there is having trouble
printing).

Any thoughts? Should I forward this to the [EMAIL PROTECTED] address
or just not worry about it.
