Hi,
You have to log into his machine using Windows authentication, first.
If his machine is a stand-alone machine (Not part of an NT domain or
anything): create a user account for yourself (CliffM or something, with a
password) on his machine. Then, when presented with this dialog, enter:
UserName: CliffM
Password: <CliffM's Password>
Logon Domain: <Your friend's machine name>
If your friend's PC is on a network (NT Domain), create yourself a user
account in the NT Domain. Then enter:
UserName: CliffM
Password: <CliffM's Password>
Logon Domain: <The name of the NT Domain that your friend's machine is
connected to>
Once authenticated, you can open VNC viewer and point it at your friend's
box.

Subject: Dial Up Connections
Firstly may I apologise if this has already been covered. I've tried to find
it in FAQ and in the lists but without success. I would appreciate help with
the following:
I am trying to access a friends Win98SE PC from my Win2000 PC using VNC. I
have installed Dial-up server on his PC and set up a dial up connection on
mine. When I dial his PC the modems connect and I am presented with a Dialog
box asking for UserName, Password and Logon Domain. I do not know what to
enter for any of these (I tried setting his Dial Up Server to have a
password or not but I couldn't get in either way). As I can't make a proper
connection I can't hover to gat a TCPIP address for viewer. Windows help was
a little use as usual so I'd appreciate it if someone could walk me through
the setting up of both ends.
Thanks
CLiff
