Hello users of WINVNC, my name is Vincent Gullotto and I'm the Director of
Research at McAfee. I understand there is an issue currently happening
where VirusScan is incorrectly identifying WINVNC.EXE as a Trojan called
Backdoor-G.

We have corrected this issue, for the files that we have seen. On our
website we will post an extra.dat within the hour that can be used with the
currently DATs and the identification will not happen. Some users have
contact our email address ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) and have received the
update. This is still an option.

The files look similar in their "signatures" as they are similar programs,
and this is why the error occurred. We've also found a couple of different
flavors of this file, so we took some extra time to make sure we had the
correction in place for them all.

If you have any questions, please contact me.

Sincerely,

Vincent Gullotto
