Hi again, My post to this list on 2-8-01 described a "workaround" for a problem originally posted by Guy McArthur on 11-16-99. I have now narrowed down the cause, and have found what I think is a "fix". It seems that KDE uses a default font (Helvetica) on its Desktop - which vncserver complains about. On the off-chance that vncviewer also may not, I changed the default Desktop font to Lucdia. Vncviewer worked normally. You can change the default font in KDE by right-clicking on the empty desktop, selecting "display properties', the 'font' tab, and then selecting another font. If you then click 'default' it returns you to the Helvetica font, so just pick 'apply' and then 'ok'. Hope this helps someone make VNC work for them. Its a great addition to my linux machine! Now that blue screen when I start Win 98 - I'm still working on that one! Cheers............Tom ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO!
