Is it possible to make a VNC server multicast to, say, a whole subnet of
IP adresses?
Picture the following scenario:
---
A teacher wishes to show all his students in the lab how to perform a
speciffic task on the computer. To accomplish this he would have to use a
projector (*expensive*), right?
Wrong! Instead he runs those nifty littte VNC viewers in "listen to
broadcast" mode on each of his students' PC's, and choses "Add Broadcast"
from the server whenever he wants to show something.
---
I know that not all machines/OS's are listening to broadcasts, but this
should constitute only a minor problem. The teacher would'nt want anyone
to tamper with his screen, so remote keyboard/mouse should be disabled by
defalt.
This kind of feature would be really neat.
