Thanks for the posting. We did find this note about
Solaris7 and that directory permissions on the FAQ.
I should have looked there first.
This fixed his problem, but I still wonder why I can
do it and he couldn't. In checking the environments
again, I see his TERM is set to xterm and mine is
set to dtterm. We both have dtwm in the xstartup file.
We both use CDE. Does anyone know if TERM type have
anything to do with the permissions on that directory
/tmp/.X11-unix?
