could you append your session log file, please? (The file in $HOME/.vnc
<host>:<session number>.log)
I experienced the same, so I checked every font directory separately including
only one path in the font line. For each font I started the vncserver, checked
the log file for errors and stopped the server again. So I found out which of
them made the Xvnc crash.
Please also check if the file or directory /usr/openwin/lib/rgb exist. In my
system it does not, but I found three links /usr/openwin/lib/rgb.dir ->
X11/rgb.dir, /usr/openwin/lib/rgb.pag -> X11/rgb.pag, /usr/openwin/lib/rgb.txt
-> X11/rgb.txt. But I dont know which of them is the right one. With rgb.dir no
error is reported.

Still does not work :(
I tried to add
/usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/Xt+/,/usr/openwin/lib/locale/iso_8859_15/X11/fonts
/TrueType/
(which includes the dt- fonts) to the font path but then Xvnc crashes at
startup saying it can set the
font path.
I will try to add more locale font paths to see if it does any difference ...
