Hi,

I'm sure I'm missing something obvious. I have installed RealVNC (free
version, version 4.1.2) in server mode. But when I restart my machine
(Windows XP Professional), I cannot connect to VNC unless I log on first.
The only way to make it work entirely remotely is to remove the password
from the user account, so windows logs on automatically.

I tried to change the log-on settings of the VNC server to not logon as
"local system", but log on as a specific user with the name and password
filled in. But in that case, the option to allow VNC to interact with the
desktop is disabled. The result is, I can connect to the VNC server and type
in the VNC password before I log into windows, but then I get an error as
VNC is trying to display the desktop screen. This problem persists after I
log into windows.

Is it possible my Norton 360 Firewall is interfering? I don't think so, but
I thought I mention it anyway.

Thanks,

Pascal
