     I wrote that sentence ("but your VNC client session will probably
break...") from memory because I got this before (long time ago).  I
didn't need to resize monitor dimension very often, and when I did
that before, it did break.  But I wasn't annoyed since I didn't have
to change it often.

     I've just tried a VNC connection (both client and server are
4.1.2 free edition).  After a screen resize, the connection
re-establishes!  Good :D
