On linux there are at least 3 ways to use vnc,
You are using the wrong vnc setup..


 on SUSE, try YAST2->Network Services -> Network Services (xinetd)
Scroll down to the 3 vnc services, toggle on for each...

Open your firewall,

Connect with :
:1 for 1024x768 screen,
:2 for 1280x1024 screen, or
:3 for 1600x1200 screen 

have a lot fun!
