Depending on the platform, yoics might be able to handle most of the items
that you are interested in doing. Yoics works like an IM client, opening up
dedicated tunnels depending on the service type & allows you to configure
for VNC as well as printer drivers.

For example, you could use Yoics to tunnel into a remote machine (which does
not have to be exposed to the Internet) and set the remote machine to
forward port 9100 over to a remote printer - so that it can print at the
location that the person is actually working from.

The main yoics page has some animated configuration pages, which should give
you an idea of how it works.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Subject: printing

I am not trying to beat a dead horse but I have read some of the posts about
this subject and would like to ask one thing, wouldn't it be nice to be able
to have a all in one package that could be secured with encryption and not
have to mess with 3 or 4 different programs? I have a client that uses vnc
to log into a local machine to do work on a local database without exposing
their server to the outside internet in anyway, the local vnc servers are
set up on virtual machines in the local office just like the rest or the
desktops, and at times they would like to be able to tell the local vm
terminal to print to a printer attached to their terminal they are using at
another location through the secure connection of vnc, is this possible?
thanks in advance Dan
