It would help if the exact name of the java application service is known. Or is it something made by you? As far as I know, Tomcat doesn't suffer with this problem. Two points to look about: 1. How do you know the java.exe service stops at the login screen (which is actually called GINA)? As far as I know, java service's bootstrapper is javaw.exe, not java.exe. Maybe you've not programmed it properly, which leads us to point #2. 2.
