You're problem is that you are setting up SUSE to use vnc one way, and then trying to connect to SUSE with vnc via a different method. I know, it sounds like giberish. So here's the beef: In Yast2 check the following setting: System->/etc/syconfig Editor Desktop->Display manager: DISPLAYMANAGER_REMOTE_ACCESS = YES After exiting yast, in a console screen (<CTRL><ALT><F1>) sign-in as root and type "init 3", once X-Windows is down restart it with "init 5". Try VNC connection again.
