Both the server (host) machine and the viewer (client) machine are running XP
Pro. I can run programs on the server machine from the viewer machine with no
problem. Everything works except IE and Firefox on the viewer machine cannot
connect to the web.

Just accessing the web has been no problem for us on W98, W2K or XP. If you are
trying to run a web-based application that changes the network settings on the
host then that would be a problem.

By "host", you mean the computer where the viewer is run? Or the
computer where the server is run?
