Hi, After looking through the FAQs and searching the mailing list, I have encountereda puzzling problem.
I have installed RealVNC on all of my Computers at home without any difficulty. I have now encountered my first. My latest computer on the network (a WinXP laptop) Is able to remote control every other PC on the network, but no other PC is able to remote control it. I have never had difficulty setting this up before, the basic automatic default install and config normally works. None of my other PCs have any difficulty with 2 way remote control. All devices are behind the same router, some are wireless and some are not, but for some reason this little baby won't play ball. I can ping it by name and IP Address, but I keep getting a timeout error or an unable to resolve host by name error, whenever I try to remote control the machine from a viewer elsewhere in the house. When I use the troublesome PC to remote control another PC it is fine. The only way I can get another PC to remote control the problem machine is by initiating the connection from "add client" which brings up the remote control window on the desired PC. Not sure what is going wrong here, or what I'm missing. Can anyone help? regards elminster _______________________________________________ VNC-List mailing list VNC-List@realvnc.com To remove yourself from the list visit: http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list
