Perhaps because of the lack of a whitelist in VNC, which will result in 
current VNC versions to blacklist the Nagios server [1] [2] ?

[1] This problem might fade away with the solution to disable the 
blacklis as proposed in 
http://www.realvnc.com/pipermail/vnc-list/2005-June/051075.html.

[2] I mentioned this in my post of 2007-02-23 18:38 +0100 but there was 
no follow-up.
