Hi John, Firstly, ensure that you're using the latest VNC Server on the server computer.
Secondly, check the Application Event Log on that computer for messages from WinVNC4 which start "Connections: closed" - these will explain why the connection is being closed. (I assume that by "drops off" you mean "closes with an error message like 'Connection reset by peer'", since you haven't actually specified what happens...)
