Michael, You should be able to run Xvnc to see the help output, and then scroll back up in the terminal to find the VNC version information.
If not, you could contact the vendor who provided the package to obtain version information. To replace it with the VNC Free Edition 4.1.2 package, you should remove the existing package, then install the standard VNC one.
