That was a good question. I always assumed realvnc was running on the
linux host since that is what I load as the windows client. I work at a
major network equipment firm and they distribute their own sanctioned
version of linux. Vnc is already included. The version is:

Xvnc version 3.3 tight1.2.9
Protocol version supported 3.3

So I assume since this is tight vnc there is nothing you can do for me. 

I will open a case with the IT folks and see if they can replace tight
vnc with realvnc.
