Hello, Wez:

Thanks. I got it fixed. Now, I can use my browser to remotely view the native display of my vncserver.

I edited the XF86Config file in "/etc/X11" directory by adding the following line to the Screen section:

       Option "httpd" "/usr/share/vnc/classes"

where "/usr/share/vnc/classes" is the directory where my java class files are located. For some unknown reason, using

Option "hpptd: "<inline>"

does not work.

Regards,

YS Kwong

Yat-sang,

1) Please see the documentation at
http://www.realvnc.com/products/free/4.1/x0.html.
2) The vncserver command sets the httpd parameter to "<inline>" by default. 3) You are unable to access your vnc.so-based server, as I have previously
stated, because you have not configured it to serve the Java Viewer, but
specifying the httpd option.

Wez @ RealVNC Ltd.

Hello, James:

Thanks for suggestion. I am not sure how to set the httpd
parameter in
vnc.so. I am now starting vnc using the vncserver script file.

1) I am not sure how to set the httpd parameter in vnc.so.
Could you
advise how to do that?
2) I am now starting vnc using the vncserver script file.
Could the httpd
parameter be set in the vncserver script file?
3) Please note that right now I can use a browser to access
desktop 1 with
http://myvncserver:5801 (after starting it with "vncserver
:1"). So the
java class files must be accessible already and since my
apache web server
is not running, these java classes must be served by the vnc
builtin http
server already. I am puzzled as to why I cannot access
desktop 0 with
http://myvncserver:5800

Thanks.
