Ok. Just for giggles, try telnetting on port 5901 and see if you get a
response. If not, SSH or telnet to that box (assuming it's remote, otherwise
just log in from the local console,) log in and run "vncserver" and that
should start it on port 5901 (default for linux, unless you start VNC with
the system.) To get VNC on port 5900, you'll need to a)use X4VNC (I think
that's it) or start it at boot using the /etc/sysconfig/... method (never
used it myself, so I'm not sure how.)

on port [5900]:
Connect failed
I am able to ping the above stated IP address.
Could you please tell me, how can I make the VNC server running on the
FC3 box, on the specified port (5900 in this case).
