Alan,
You got to remember that a VPN will allow a remote computer to appear as
though it were a node on the network. So I suggest that you share your home
printer. Then on the PC your connecting to with VNC thru the VPN print to
it. Since you are now a node on the network there should not be any reason
the other pc that you are connecting to thru VNC should not be able to see
it.

Good luck
Tom

Dear Jvrn,

Thank you for the information. I suppose if I am using VNC WITHIN our LAN, I
can use printer sharing. However, I am coming in from the outside. What do
you think would happen if I first established a VPN connection and THEN
started up VNC? I will have to try that.

Best wishes,

/s/ Alan

afaik vnc can't, but citrix metaframe can, among others. maybe they

are using some publicly available trick that you can use as well...

not sure though.

or if you are on the same network as the server, simply use the OS's

printer sharing support.
