Ronald, I've replied to the list instead so that others with similar questions may benefit from some help as well...
The port numbers referred to after the IP address is the port # that VNC uses as the default.. 5900 is the default for "screen 1"..you use the subsequent port #'s for other screens..i.e. screen 2 is 5901, etc. You use these when you need to access more than one server from a shared IP address. There's another thread right now in the list discussing this exact topic, so I won't go into details here. Hope that helped. The type of connection that you have to MCI is totally irrelevant as far as their connections to the Internet and whether or not they do any filtering. If, in fact they don't block any ports at all, your best bet is to make sure that you don't have anything going on either...i.e. Windows XP firewall? I would first try to make sure you can ping the other machine as suggested. Maybe a little more information would help too...O/S, VNC versions. There's plenty of help in the FAQ at realvnc.com.
