Hi all.
I am using VNC 3.3.7 and I want to set it up so I can access my server from
the internet.
I have a Netcomm NB1300 ADSL Modem and have set up port forwarding like this
Public Port Private Port Port Type Host UP Address
    5800 5800 TCP
192.168.1.5
    5900 5900 TCP
192.168.1.5

192.168.1.5 is the static IP address for the server on my LAN.
On the server I have the VNC Server running and can access it using the viewer
program and by typing http://server:5800 in Internet Explorer

I have set the server to Accept Incoming Connections, Enable Java Viewer and
set the display number to auto which is 0.
My IP address is 218.214.X.XXX and when I type http://218.214.X.XXX:5900 into
Internet Explorer I get a page cannot be displayed message. I have gone to
www.gotomyvnc.com and it says this:
218.214.X.XXX is accepting connections on Display 0 (TCP port 5900).
The server is running Windows 2000 Pro and no firewall has been set-up on it.
What am I doing wrong?
Is it because I am testing it with the same IP address as it is configured to
receive. Therefore if I use a different net connection to access it would it
work?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Mark
