I've been searching the archives for a while, but haven't found a solution to my problem.
I'm using two WinXP machines on a LAN, ports on the router (5800 & 5900) are open.
The first machine is my desktop, with viewer version 4 installed. The second is a freshly installed XP pro, not included in the install is SP1, with only VNC server version 4 installed. No internal firewalls or antivirus software is running.
I've upgraded to version 4, 'cause 3.3.7 connected but gave a screwed up view. Version 4 however, just shows a black screen. I've already turned off fast user switching, remote desktop and any screensavers. Drivers for the video card are installed (ATI 9200SE)
When I move the mousepointer over the display, I can see that it alters sometimes, leaving me with the impression that it has found an icon. Also in the below left corner, I can see the pointer altering in a "hand", giving me the impression that I've found the "start" button.
If anyone has any idea what I can try to get the connection working, I would be very gratefull.
