You aught to add a section on MTU size here as well as a new section
dedicated to VPN since even in the past VPNs have caused problems
with VNC on other windows versions than XP.

Here is a good FAQ with tips on how to determine the right MTU for
a given situation.

Actually, it's about tweaking for speed but it handles MTUs pretty well.

Changing the MTU might be an alternative to switching off ICF but
I can't check that. Someone else?
