I downloaded and installed VNC on my network, primarily to allow me to run my
Windows 95 computer from my living room instead of the office. I use the W95
machine to drive my Yamaha Disklavier (to those not music fanatics, a modern
MIDI capable piano). What I desired was to be able to direct and monitor what
was playing in the comfort of my easy chair by the piano.

I had no problem installing VNC on the 95 machine, as well as an XP desktop
and my XP Home laptop. Everything seems to work fine until I try to run one
of my MIDI sequencers to drive the piano. This seems to reliably lock up the
95 computer tighter than a safe. I have guessed that this might be due to the
fact that MIDI output driver is executed by 16 bit code called by some obscure
process called 'thunking'. I know virtually nothing about thunking.

Has anyone encountered a similar or relevant problem. Do I need a different
driver for the MIDI output, or is there a problem with my W95 operating
system?
