I need to proxy WinVNC traffic across a firewall. What port does WinVNC use by default for its IP traffic? The only information that I could find on this was on the page that discusses securing VNC traffic with SSH. It seemed to indicate that that WinVNC traffic (as opposed to other VNC traffic, such as Unix VNC traffic) uses port 5900 (it seemed to indicate that Unix VNC traffic used 5901, 5902, 5903, etc., depending on the display ID).
But I want to verify this before I set it up and maybe have problems with it. It also did not mention whether it was TCP or UDP traffic. I'm thinking TCP.......but maybe not. I just don't know. There must be people out there that have done this. Can someone help me out, please?
