So you are trying to use the Java viewer from Mozilla. Since you mention Internet Explorer, I assume you are using a Microsoft OS. You will need a JVM because it doesn't appear that Mozilla uses Microsoft's (at least Firebird doesn't on my system). Try http://java.sun.com . IIRC there used to be issues with the Java VNC viewer and Sun's JVM, but I'm not sure how current that is.
