I have VNC 3.3.7 installed on a Windows 2000 Pro workstation with SP4.
On the local machine, I can connect to the VNC server via the loopback
address. However, any connection attempt from a remote machine is
refused with the message "Failed to connect to server". Telnet
connections to port 5900 also fail. I have tried re-installing VNC and
rebooting the machine. I have also made sure to set an authentication
password. If I shutdown VNC and start an FTP server listening on port
5900, I can connect via FTP without any issues. The VNC server is
listening on port 5900 according to the netstat command. Does anyone
have any suggestions? I have checked the list already and did not find
anything useful.
