After setting the Linksys router to forward ports 5800-5900 to the local PC's IP address and telling Zone Alarm Pro that VNC was allowed to use those ports, I was able to:
a) use VNC to connect to the PC the server is running on by using the dynamic IP address as reported by no-ip.com, and
b) ping the forwarding address I gave no-ip.com (yadayada.hopto.org) successfully.
The only thing left is to have VNC connect using the forwarding address. Unfortunately VNC gives me "unable to connect to the server".
What have I missed??
