Hi, I'm trying to use Xvnc on Debian via inetd. I've edited /etc/services -- vnc 5900/tcp
I've edited /etc/inetd.conf -- vnc stream tcp nowait nobody /usr/bin/X11/Xvnc -inetd -query localhost -once -geometry 640x480 -depth 8 I've edited /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf -- [xdmcp] -- Enable=true Restarted inetd, restarted gdm and then I try to connect with a vncviewer to the machine. All I get is "Not a valid VNC server" I've tried this (server side) on a RedHat 7.3 machine (xinetd instead of inetd) and it works perfectly, but on debian (server side) I can't get it to work. I've tried the original debian packages of vncserver/vnccommon and compiled a new version of Xvnc from the realvnc site, alas the same error. What am I doing wrong, or what have I missed ? Hoping anyone can help me, Pieter van der Eems The Netherlands _______________________________________________ VNC-List mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list
