Just use iptables to block access from the external interface.Hi,I have a linux server (RH8.0) acting as a gateway on my home network to a cable modem (on eth0). I use iptables for masquerading. Does having vncserver (without ssh or anything) on this machine pose a security risk from the outside?
0 security risk.
Although, frankly, you may as well just use ssh to administer the box, if you want to run it headless. Then you don't need VNC at all. :)
Are there actually unix/linux apps that one would want to use VNC for? I've never really understood the desire to have a GUI on linux.
