I checked the messages file and I noticed two entries that read: ONEOFXEON GDM[1307]: GDM_XDMCP_DECODE: COULD NOT CREATE XDMCP BUFFER! I ran the vncserver script manually and after I entered the appropriate information, the connection to the server was achieved. Two questions: 1. Have you seen the error shown above in your travels? 2. I am getting the xterm connection, but what about the actual KDM or GNOME desktop? -----Original Message----- From: William Hooper [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, December 11, 2002 11:04 AM To: Subject: RE: Starting XDMCP on a Linux Server > -----Original Message----- > From: Kaplan, Andrew H. Sounds like you don't have a VNCserver running. If you are trying the xinetd method of running the VNC server it looks like you might want to check your config files. You should also be able to check /var/log/messages and see if any errors are being logged. I've never tried setting it up with that method so I can't help much with that. Have you tried just running "vncserver" or using Xvnc and passing the commands to it manually instead of using xinetd? -- William Hooper _______________________________________________ VNC-List mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list _______________________________________________ VNC-List mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list
