How would adding a feature "destroy what VNC is designed for"?

I didn't like the idea either, but unlike some of you, I *do* like the
idea of file transfer. It makes sense. I can live without it -- I have
my own system for getting around the file transfer problem. But it is a
problem. The printing issue would be solved by a file transfer feature in
VNC (print to a file remotely, then move the file to the local system and
send it to the printer).
