Sorry I am a mainframe programmer, all our terminals are dump ;-) I wanted to say: X11terminal, but all applications run on one server > > - I dial in from an other Linux machine via pppd. > Should be no problem, it results in a tcp connection which vnc uses. it does > To be able to take-over X11 sessions at the console display (of linux > machines) try http://xf4vnc.sourceforge.net/ or > http://www.hexonet.de/software/x0rfbserver/. There is a projekt running krfb, renamed to destopsharing that does want I want partiulary but it is too new for a production system. > IF you want to be able to take over the sessions at the terminals, you > should set them up the way vnc origionally intended to be: Run Xvnc or > vnc-server at the servers Server*s* ?? Right now I boot the server until the x server is up and than I leave the server allone. The terminals mount the certain directories from the server and start the aplications on the server. How does that now work with vncserver and the viewer? I guess you say I should run a vncserver on my "appication"server and vncviewer on the Terminals?
