Forgive me if this is an old problem but I've searched the FAQ and scanned the recent
archives and not found it.

I've installed VNC but when I start the server and hover the cursor over the taskbar
icon it says "not listening". If I open the properties box the "Accept Socket
Connection" box is not checked. If I check it, close properties and then open the
properties box again it's become unchecked. It's the same whether I run VNC as a
service or as an application.

I'm running Win98SE. I've tried different combinations of setting the default
preference, installing the service, staring it as an application etc to no avail. I've
also completely removed it and removed the ORL keys from the registry and re-installed
to no effect. I sort of suspect that there's something laying around in the registry
that's causing this but I don't know what to look for. Does anyone have a list of all
the registry entries that affect VNC (apart from the obvious ORL ones)? Anyone have
any suggestions to help?

Many thanks for reading this far!
