Hi,

Using the putty ssh client on machines at work I've managed to make ssh
connections to my home linux box and launch tightvnc and vnc with putty's
port forwarding.

My problem is not connecting, it's staying connected. That is, whenever I'm
connected using ssh tunnelling my vnc client freezes constantly. The server
remains up. Changing the server's -depth flag to 8 from 16 helped some, but
not enough for steady, comfortable use.

Here are the particulars:

Port forwarding looks like this: L:3110 my.ip.address:port

The machine at home is behind a router but really the trouble seems to be
mostly at work and on windows.

Tia,

Seth
