I think its an overall trend with smartphones. There are lots of success Androy phone model, no longer give you te option of 32gb. They either give you the 16gb or 64gb (discount Samsung).
As far as why it is the case, i'm not sure. I thought it will make more sense for apple to have 32gb, 64gb and 128gb. But who knows what behind the brain of it. Maybe, we Apple might want to retain the 32gb soully for iPads.
