I've just spent much of this afternoon trying to send text messages or trying to make phonecalls to several people. I have done this from locked screen and the contacts list both. I'm getting the standard two beeps that say to start speaking when trying to send text msgs followed either immediately by the two low beeps that indicate failure of some kind, or, after saying a few words and still speaking, the same lower beeps. When trying to make a phonecall, I have tried using the call button, or pressing the home button, waiting for the two higher beeps and saying "call so-and-so". Either the phone does not respond at all, or one of the two times out of 8 it did respond, I got the stuck button; the other time I actually was able to complete a call and leave a message. I have an iPhone 5 with 16 Gb of Ram of which nearly half is free. The phone is virtually useless.
